PROFESSIONAL TENNIS RETURNS TO KELOWNA JUNE 26 TO JULY 2, 2017

Joachim Nierfeld, Tennis BC Regional Director, is pleased to announce that professional tennis

will return to Kelowna this summer. The sixth annual $25,000 Men’s Futures tennis event,

sponsored by Capri and Aviva Insurance, will be held at the Parkinson Recreation Centre

Courts from June 26 to July 2, 2017. The tournament will provide valuable ATP Tour

world-ranking points to the competitors and is sanctioned by Tennis Canada as well as the

International Tennis Federation.

Futures tournaments are a launching pad for professional tennis players in their quest to

compete in ATP and Grand Slam events. The tournament will attract world-ranked players

ranging from #200 – 1500, elite NCAA Division 1 collegiate players, as well as top Canadian

men and junior competitors. Nierfeld states; “This elite tournament will be the tennis

highlight of the year and will provide great entertainment for sports fans and inspiration for

our rising junior stars.”

Qualifications Saturday, June 24th to Sunday June 25th FREE

1st Round Monday, June 26th $5 each

2nd Round Wednesday, June 28th $5 each

3rd Round Thursday, June 29th $10 each

Quarter Finals Friday, June 30th $15 each

Semi-Finals Saturday, July 1st $20 each

Finals Sunday, July 2nd $20 each
